This week we broke ground on our house. It was definitely exciting to watch Chris do what he really loves...playing in the mud! He dug our basement which was a very big job. Due to those dang engineers (lol) the hole had to be be much bigger and deeper then our actual house and our soil apparently doesn't compact well. So to prevent settling of our house we have to get lots of soil/compaction tests over the next week...who knew that building a house was this complicated!
Here are some pictures! The kids loved playing in the mud along side dad and especially loved their turns riding in the back-hoe and track-hoe.

We are both super excited for you guys to build a home! Hooray! It is a LONG process, but totally worth the work. We are on the downward end of things- and we are finally coming to the end. We will call and check and you both later.
